You're Getting Sleeeeeeeeeepy...

NOT! Night before last I finally dozed off at 3:30 am and last night at 2:00 am. Mind you, I have to be at work at 8:00 am. I don't know why I can't fall asleep - I just feel wide awake. I guess it's all the plans and preparations for my upcoming move getting to me.

We officially move all of our belongings this weekend to our new home in Greenville. I will be staying here in Columbia though until our house sells. Hopefully it will all go well. If you want to help, be at my place 8 am sharp Saturday morning - I'll provide the coffee! :)

Touche

I really wish that I could be less sensitive to the tone & manner in which people speak to me. But unfortunately I am overly touchy about it. And I recognize this and yet I still am.

For instance, last night my husband asks me the simple question, "Crystal, when was the last time you took the car payment check to the bank for me?" Now, granted I am pms'ing so I'm cranky already but I immediately took the attitude and replied with, "How the hell am I supposed to remember? You don't hand me a check and I say to myself, 'Hey! Better memorize this date!' " Rightly so, he got irritated with me. He says, "Why do you have to get so defensive?" I replied, "Well, why would you assume that is something I'd remember?" He said, "Well, so what if you don't know, just say 'I don't remember.' Big deal." And of course I have to come back with, "Well, why don't you just ask your question in the form that invites that type of answer?"

I know. I know. How anal is that? Well, of course this morning I see the error of my ways. I'll have to give hubby a backrub tonight to apologize. He's such a saint for living with Bitch Crystal.

Weekend Again Please

Bee, Hubby & I went to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Overall, I LOVED it. I think they did a very good job of cramming all of the action into a 3 hour period. There were of course points left out that I wasn't happy about but not enough to make me give a negative review.

What I liked least: 1. I dislike Gambon's portrayal of Dumbledore. In one scene I thought he was going to smack Harry. Dumbledore is NOT written that aggressive and boisterous. Sure, Dumbledore is firm and strong when need be but overall he is a gentle and soft spoken man.
2. Harry was too happy at the end.

I'm very pleased with how Lord Voldemort turned out. I loved the humor they brought to this film. And honestly, this is the first one that gave me feelings of creepiness.
Overall : A-

More Pictures

I found this collage that I made in high school. I wish I hadn't glued them all on because I'd really like to frame the one of my Dad. That's him - the bald guy - holding my baby brother Rivers. Weren't they cute together? I couldn't scan the whole collage together because it was too big. I have previously scratched out my ex in a couple of pictures. A couple of the girls were my best friends in high school - one of whom I still exchange christmas cards with and the other who fell off the planet about 3 years ago. There's also a special picture on here. The only picture I have of myself with all my grandparents. I'll let you figure out which one that is! :)

Do You See What I See?

Can you tell the differences of my nose in my profiles? It has always bothered me but a lot of people tell me they can't tell.

Hmmm...Yep, I still see it.

It Must Be Tuesday...

Interesting news from E!'s Kristen:

Smallville?
Aquaman's getting his own spinoff! The WB isn't saying who's playing the part yet. I'm told it won't be Alan Ritchson, who was Smallville's Aquaman last month. Also, I hear they're in talks with James Marsters to make him a series regular. No word yet on if he's going to sign. I know his children live here in L.A., so it might be a tough sell.

Friday night I got an ocular migraine. I generally only get those when I'm highly stressed (when my grandmother was in the hospital, for instance). They are usually followed up with a normal headache. But the headache I got Friday night was the worst I've ever experienced. I guess you'd call it a migraine. My cheekbones hurt and I got nauseaus from it. All of this while I was trying to drive to Greenville. It sure made for a fun trip!

Manic Monday

I wish I had something interesting to write about today. But my mind's a blank. My weekend was uneventful (there's nothing spectacular about raking).

So, to fill the space, I'm recycling a post. Coming from way back in August...

Yep. I CHOSE To Marry Him

While on my way home from work last night my very non-romantic husband caught me by surprise by telephoning me simply to tell me he'd missed me that day and to hurry home. Feeling mushy I arrived home to the storm of my girls (that means my dogs came flying out to the driveway to greet me). I noticed that Lucy Lulu had a note sticking out from her collar. I thought, "Oh my goodness! Did my husband actually write me a little love note?" I eagerly removed it and read, "Please bring the trash can back from the curb."

I should've known better.

Know what the best part of the massive Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire coverage is? Pictures of Jason Isaacs! This man is so hot!

Be Still My Heart

"David Boreanaz likes to save dogs, he goes to pounds and saves dogs..."- Vladimir Kulich (The Beast, Angel)

Nothing could make me love him more!

I'm so glad that it's Friday! I've got lots of "home improvement" plans this weekend. Hope the weather will be nice.

Smallville rocked last night. Dane said silver kryptonite didn't exist in the comic but it worked REALLY well for the show. It's always nice to see hottie Tom Welling playing something other than dense, holier-than-thou Clark. And James Marsters finally in action. Sweet!

Office Supply Wednesday

Because I am a devoted Shanshuee, I am posting a picture of items on my desk here at work. That's right. It's a picture of Buffy & Angel. A gift from my dear diva Bee. Also there's a picture of Elvis Presley blowing me a kiss but the light glared on that one a lot. There's also pics of my pets. And my headphones with which I jam out while I blog.

Love this cheesy song

I cannot listen to Flash Gordon Theme by Queen without singing along and yelling out "What do you mean Flash Gordon approaching?!"

Went through one of my photo albums tonight and came across these. The black & tan pup is my dog Ariana. The other two were my babies that were killed 3.5 years ago this month. I miss them so much. (The guy in the picture with me is my best friend and former roomie - Darin aka Monkeyboy).

NEWS!

I've heard a rumor that David Boreanaz will get Punk'd tonight on MTV (11pm EST)

*EDIT* news was wrong. David is on Punk'd Sunday night. Apparently he & his wife are out to dinner and she has glass in her salad.

Back to Life...

...back to reality.

I had such a wonderful weekend; it was hell to come back to work this morning.
There was nothing special or exciting about my weekend - just that it was peaceful and relaxing. The weather was so gorgeous that Hubby & I took all three of our girls to Paris Mountain State Park which is only 3 miles from our new home. We walked some of the trails and stopped at a pooled section of creek and let Lucy run around in it. The other two dogs didn't care to go near the water but Lucy jumps around in it like a mad dog. I took video of her but it's such low quality there is no need for me to upload it. Here's a picture of one of the lakes. You can swim in it during the summer. Again, excuse the poor camera quality.

Also on Saturday Hubby & I went to Lowe's where I promptly found 3 things I needed 50% off on the clearance rack. YAY! And that evening we went to dinner at a local steakhouse. While it was more money than we wanted to spend, I must admit it was the best steak I've ever eaten in my entire life. No lie.

Yesterday we just did a little bit of work on the house and then took a nice nap together. I wish every day could be like that.

Ho-Hum

I've been trying to think of something to write all day. But I guess I'm feeling rather "empty".

Other than packing, I haven't done much of anything lately - unless you count watching tv. And I can't recap the shows I've watched because no one else that visits here watches them. At least tonight there is a new Smallville episode and I can look forward to discussing that with Dane.

I do watch a lot of tv but only because I like to be home - and when I'm home - there's little else to do especially while my husband's gone. I have been watching Buffy season 2 again. I felt the need for the good 'ol days of the Buffy/Angel romance. Last night I watched Bad Eggs. While being one of the worst demons featured on the series it has some seriously good smoochie scenes between B&A - and smiles - they didn't have a lot of smiley scenes. *sigh*

But I don't live for most of these shows. The ones I don't miss are starred.
Mon: How I Met Your Mother /Kitchen Confidential
Tues: The Amazing Race/ Boston Legal* /Scrubs* (whenever the dumb fucks at NBC decide to put it back on!) (during commercials I might flip to Supernatural or The Office)
Wed: Lost*
Thurs: Smallville* /Survivor*
Fri: nothing
Sat: Rescue Me*
Sun: Cold Case /Desperate Housewives /Grey's Anatomy*

BA Perfect Love

Holy shit! I think I did it!

I did! I did! This is my own template creation. It's not 100% what I wanted but I've run out of time for today.

What do you think?

*modify* I just opened it in IE to see how it looks there but it doesn't. There's a surprise.

Totally Awesome!!

Joss Whedon's letter to Angel fans!

It's from a dvd box set. Saw this on Whedonesque.

Well, I tried

Well, fuck.

I was trying to be creative and create my own template. I got the extreme basics down but I cannot figure out how to manipulate the tables & borders the way I want them. Nor can I find the blogger navigation bar code.

I'm tired of staring at it for today.
